Ministry Update February 2021

James was appointed as interim minister in February 2019 for a period of two years …

The Bishop of Stepney has consulted with representatives of the parish of St Jude and St Paul, Mildmay about its period of interim ministry and plans to meet soon with members of the PCC to hear how well the parish has been working in terms of mission, ministry, and good governance. She is grateful to Revd James Hill for his ministry over the last two years, as well as to the churchwardens and PCC for all their hard work in bringing stability and a fresh outlook.

As James’s initial period of interim ministry has come to a conclusion, she has proposed that he be appointed as the incumbent of the parish – ie a permanent appointment under Common Tenure. This will need the approval of the Area Council, and the patron, CPAS (who have informally indicated that they would be in favour of this appointment). In order to allow time for these approvals to be formally given, she has extended, as a temporary measure, James’ interim licence, with a view to instituting him as Vicar in the early autumn. Further information on dates will follow.
